Raqib se! by Faiz Ahmad Faiz
Faiz used to live in Sialkot and there was a beautiful girl living next door. Faiz Sahab was in love with this girl. One day when he came home from his college that girl not not there. Someone told Faiz that she got married.
After Faiz Sahab got recognition and made his name is poetry one fine day that girl came, along with his husband. She said ti Faiz “See how handsome is my Husband”. Her husband was a big fan of Ahmad Faraz Sahab. He was waiting for a chance to meet him.
This was the occasion when Faiz Ahmad Faiz wrote this Nazm- “Raqeeb Se”. Raqeeb means some one who is your rival in love.
One of the most famous and much applauded nazms of Faiz Ahmad Faiz Sahab.
